Dave Boisen (Softball/Baseball Director)
Dave has 23 years of coaching experience at the middle school and high school level in multiple sports. He is also a long time Babe Ruth & USSSA baseball coach. During the spring/summer/fall seasons Dave can be found out at the baseball / softball complex making sure things are looking ready for the next ball game. Dave has over 20 years of umpiring experience who recently retired after a very hot day! Dave played college football at Iowa Lakes Community College and at the University of Northern Iowa. Dave’s son Zach can be found site directing at many of our events along with his wife Melissa of 25 years who helps out wherever needed. Dave is also a member of the Vinton Volunteer Fire Department for the last 11 years and is currently the training officer for the department.
Jason Yessak (Tournament Director/Business Manager)
Jason attended the University of Northern Iowa where he majored in education. Jason has five years experience as an Activities Director and two years as a MS/HS Principal. Jason has almost 19 years experience coaching basketball and 14 years as a baseball coach, many in the USSSA program. Jason’s son Jordan can be found at many of our events umpiring, site directing or helping out in other ways. Jason’s wife Anita of 20 years can also be found at many of our events helping out.
Todd Ambrosy (Basketball Director – Umpire / Referee Scheduler / Recruiter)
Todd has been around youth sports for almost 25 years, as a coach, High School & youth umpire/referee, PST Board member, umpire/referee scheduler and Officials recruiter. Todd grew up on a farm south of Dubuque and moved to the Cedar Rapids area in 1984. Todd works at Collins Aerospace since 2007. Todd has been married to his wife Laurie for almost 28 years now, they have 3 grown boys. Logan (25), Cole (27) & Nick (32). The boys were athletes at Kennedy HS in Cedar Rapids. Now, their kids live in great places to visit, Nick & Logan in Scottsdale, Arizona and Cole in Denver, Colorado, so on his off-time he is visiting his boys. Be ready for Todd to tap you on the shoulder and ask if you are interested in becoming an umpire or referee - we need you!!!
Jim Thompson (Game Scheduler/Tournament Director/Tech Man)
Jim attended THE Iowa State University and was a four year letterwinner for the Cyclone football team. Jim was a long time USSSA coach and umpire before getting into the tournament business. Jim is originally for Nebraska (don't hold that against him, his Cyclone team kicked their butt back in the day) and has lived in Iowa since his Iowa State days. Jim has been married for 22 years to his wife Lisa and has three kids - Jared, who plays baseball at Illinois-Springfield - Keegan, who runs track at Hawkeye Community and Faith, who is still in high school. Jim enjoys going to his cabin in Wisconsin and fishing the Mississippi.
